TEACHING MINISTRY
Sunday School (All Ages)
From childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14
The purpose of the Sunday school ministry is to teach the Word of God to every man, woman, and child at ABBC. Our primary goal is to proclaim the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, lead lost souls to Him, and explain what it means to live in fellowship with God.
Once saved, each student needs to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, precept upon precept, line upon line. We also aspire to equip each participant so that they can defend and spread the Gospel.
Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m.
“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby.” 1 Peter 2:2
Nursery (0-3)
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
The goal of the ABBC Nursery ministry is for all children attending the nursery to see and feel the love of Christ during their stay. We provide childcare in a nurturing atmosphere to nursery age children while their parents attend the worship services. This includes lessons for our 2- and 3-year-olds, and age-appropriate activities and playtime for our younger attendees.
Not only do we serve the children spiritually using Bible stories, verses, and songs, we enable the parents to give the Lord their undivided attention during worship.

Junior Church (4-11)
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
After the praise and worship portion of the Sunday morning service, children ages 4-11 are dismissed to Junior Church where they are taught at an age-appropriate level, and are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We use the “Bible Made Easy for Kids,” which takes them on a journey from Genesis to Revelation, explains the main doctrines of the Bible, and teaches them spiritual disciplines such as how to pray and share their faith. We also encourage parents to use this resource for their family devotions. That way, we can reinforce what the children are taught at home and support parents in the very important responsibility of spiritually educating their children.
5:30 Bible Study Hour (Adults)
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
The Bible is the Word of God, and it is the final authority for all matters of faith, religious practice, and morals. The purpose of the 5:30 Bible Study Hour is to dig deeper into the Scriptures so that we are equipped to serve and glorify God.
Through expository teaching of the books of the Bible (i.e., to expose the meaning verse by verse), topical lessons on theology, and studies of orthodox doctrines of Christianity and church history, we endeavor to know God better. This is a joyful pursuit, and causes us to say with Jeremiah,
“Your words were found, and I ate them,
And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart;
For I am called by Your name,
O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16
Children for Christ (4-12)
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son.” John 3:16 (NLT)
The Children for Christ (CFC) ministry uses The Jesus Storybook Bible to discover for themselves the One who is at the center of God’s great rescue story – and is at the center of their story, too. CFC is for kids age 4-12 and meets every second, third, and fourth Sunday from 6:30 – 7:30 (during the evening worship service). There is a quarterly exam to test the children’s knowledge of Jesus and an end of year ceremony.
In addition, children engage in other activities such as a Fun Day/Lock In, Splash Extravaganza, Christmas party, pizza parties, and monthly movie nights using the Superbook series.
